We made the news!
Last Friday we launched our first walk with The Happiness Hunter into WA. I flew over on Thursday and ran a workshop that evening before kicking off the first Swanbourne walk on Friday morning.
Through an amazing sequence of events, Channel 9 decided to run a story on The Happiness Hunter walk and they also invited me to come into the studio for a live cross. I would have been over the moon for just the local paper, The Post, to come and cover the actual walk (after they ran an article promoting the walk launch) so to find out we were going to be on the news that was airing all over WA… I am sure you can imagine how that felt.
Being on live TV was something that I had not factored in to the trip, which was probably a really good thing, as I didn’t really have the opportunity to over-think it. The actual experience itself was like nothing I can really explain, except to say that living through it was extremely uncomfortable and I was very glad when it was over.
However, like anything, once it’s been done, once you’ve faced that fear and nothing bad happened (in fact only good things have happened) it’s never going to be that terrifying again.
You all know how much I value the need to be living outside of our comfort zone if we really want to grow.
This was a great opportunity for me to do just that and to experience what it was like to be on live TV and to have the opportunity to learn what I need to focus on to get better in this space.
And what a great opportunity to reflect on how far The Happiness Hunter has come.
Experience really is our best teacher.
I’m going to be hosting an exclusive webinar event on Tuesday 15th August – “5 Steps to Unlocking Your Happy Life”. You can find out more and register here. And don’t worry if you can’t attend in person. Register anyway, and you will be sent the recording after the event.
