The power of visualisation

You may or may not be familiar with a mindset tool called visualisation. Athletes have been known to visualise themselves winning a race, actors practice visualising a crowd cheering them on after a great performance, or those with goals use this tool to see themselves in a new role at work or buying their dream home. You could set a vision for a successful business, a healthy baby, a loving relationship, a financially secure future, or anything you truly desire.

When we create a visual representation of how we want our life to look – where we want to live, what kind of partner we want to attract, what we want to be doing for work – all of these desires are communicated to the universe and the more we feed those desires with positivity and the more we believe they will happen, the better the chances of them actually coming into fruition.

You may have come to terms with accepting that things need to change in your life in order for you to be happier and healthier. So to attract this positive change, it can help to create a vision of what this will look like. How do you see your life after you make some changes? What is it that you need and want in your new life?

Part of the process of change means you need to look at your current lifestyle and all the aspects of your health, mentality and relationships. Visualisation works in line with the law of attraction – what you put out there, you get back.

The Law of Attraction

The law of attraction is about the ability to attract into our lives whatever we are focusing on. This basically means if you are constantly focusing on all the bad stuff in your life, you will most likely attract more of it! The Law of Attraction uses the power of the mind to translate whatever is in our thoughts and turn them into reality, so it is important we understand that our thoughts can be powerful, and we try to change our perspective to more positive thinking.

If you’re going for a new job and you are constantly telling yourself, ‘I won’t get it, I’m not good enough’, chances are you probably won’t get the job. If you apply for a job that excites you, that you see yourself thriving in and you walk into an interview feeling confident and enthusiastic, you increase your chances 10 fold.

You may know the age-old story; someone you know is alway the victim, always focusing on the negative and in turn, attracts more negative into their lives. This can turn into a horrible cycle and it becomes more and more difficult to break. When you work on attracting what you want into your life, whatever it may be, this could really work in an opposite manner, the cycle could be that more and more positive opportunities come up for you!

What is a vision board?

A vision board or dream board is essentially a poster where you stick on anything that you want to attract into your life. It could be simple words, pictures of happy families or a holiday to a remote island. The purpose of creating a vision board is to manifest these things into your life. To see something visually can help you get an understanding of what you want and help you to work toward seeing those things into fruition.

When we visualise our desires, it can help to get us used to feeling as though we already own it. If we want something, and we can picture it, we already do kind of “have it” in a way and this might influence our direction in life. This board is used as a constant reminder to stay on the path that will take you to where you want to go. For this reason, it is important to put the board up somewhere you will see it daily, and look at it with great belief that these things will come into your life.

Join us for a vision board workshop

Facilitated by Fiona Redding and with The Seven Elements Framework to guide you, you will get clear on what you would like for your life and create a visual representation of what that life looks like, creating your own personal view of the future that makes you feel excited and uplifted every time you look at it.

You have the power to create your own reality, and this process begins in your mind. Your mind thinks in images, and what we focus on with emotion creates our reality, so a vision board that excites and inspires you is one of the best ways to help set you on the path to achieving your dreams. Whether you are familiar with the vision boarding process or are new to it, this workshop will help you connect with your dreams across all of the different elements of your life (with nothing off-limits), and working alongside others, you will be inspired by their focus and vision as well.

Details: Wednesday 4th December at Black Rock, Victoria. (Please note that places are strictly limited.)
